The Wide Opened Mouth Filled
When God speaks, He speaks with authority and love, offering us promises that are both inviting and powerful. In Psalm 81:10, we find one of the most encouraging invitations in Scripture: "Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it." These words are not just a command, but a heartfelt promise from the Creator Himself. They call us to prayer, to ask for what we need, and to trust that He will provide.
Over the last several weeks my wife and I have witnessed this promise played out in nature with a family of finches. The mother and father built a nest in the corner of our front porch and after a couple weeks of sitting on the eggs five little chicks hatched. Instinctively they opened their mouths wide trusting they would be fed whenever one of the parents returned to the nest . . .
The Journey From Fear to Faith
Last month I received email from a woman named Mia Grace. In her email she said she would love the opportunity to contribute a faith-strengthening article to the website. I replied telling her I would be pleased to post her article. We continued to communicate and this week I received from her the following short bio along with her beautifully written essay.
My name is Mia Grace, and I’m a Christian writer currently based in Pakistan. I came across Treasures in the Field while reading the “From Fear to Faith” devotion, which deeply resonated with me and inspired me to reach out. My heart for writing is to encourage believers in their walk with Christ—especially in seasons of uncertainty, spiritual struggle, and growth—by pointing them back to God’s faithfulness in everyday life . . .
